Queens Park Rangers vs Millwall match preview

QPR is playing nothing but personal arrogance with two games left, although Mark Warburton has a guarantee of improvement from last season's 19th place finish.

It is mathematically impossible to drag Rupee into the Delegre Dogfight or make a late charge for a playoff berth, so Warburton would not want to use this bar to determine where his team went wrong after the restart.

In fact QPR enjoyed unbeaten runs in six games in the second division before the game abruptly ended, but since the resumption of the championship, Warburton's team has managed to win only one of seven.

Former candidates Luton Town were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw on Tuesday, and the QPR faithful will be desperate to see a three-match losing streak in the region known in their season's final home game.

In contrast, Millwall have won three of the last four of the second tier and their play-off hopes are still good and literally surviving after 44 matches.

In fact, Gary Rowett's men are just two points behind sixth-placed Cardiff City and five behind Nottingham Forest - a great achievement for the Millwall team that managed to hold off relegation last season.

The Lions have been aided by the indifferent looks of Preston North End and Swansea City, but Millwall has not relied on their accomplishments and has taken full advantage of the situation in recent weeks.

Mason Bennett's first-half strike was enough to give Millwall all three points against Blackburn Rovers for the last time, and Ruet has two relatively friendly fixtures left to fight against in-form QPR and Huddersfield Town.

If Cardiff City loses this weekend, Millwall will enter the top six with a win, but the Bluebirds will still prefer the possibility of maintaining their position in the playoffs with games against Middlesbrough and Hull City.
