Valencia revert to Mestalla this weekend, still looking for their first win since the resumption to the season. The same applies to Osasuna who will be looking over their shoulder a little now as they bid to avert being sucked into the relegation war.
With home advantage, if not home clinch, Valencia will be the favourites for this game. They started deeply at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano in midweek and thought they had the lead in opposition to Real Madrid, only for Rodrigo’s goal to be ruled out by VAR. Osasuna were also on the wrong end of a one-sided scoreline against opponency from the capital. Atletico went to El Sadar and won 5-0, a result that surely wouldn’t have ordinarily occurred had fans been in attendance. Jagoba Arrasate would have left feeling a bit deflated you’d imagine but his team did pick up a good point on the street at Real Sociedad last weekend which took them one nearer to survival.
With four players still out injured including top scorer Chimy Avila, Osasuna don’t have a wealth of options in terms of spin but there could be one or two changes at the back with Unai Garcia hoped to get a start in central defence.
Valencia meanwhile have a few selection problems too with José Gaya, probably their best player since the restart, and Kang-in Lee both suspended. Celades is also sweating above the fitness of Gabriel Paulista and Maxi Gomez and may make last minute calls on whether to play them.
